Is the course the same as 2020?

Due to health and safety guidelines, the course for the Rose Bowl 5K will start and finish on the grounds outside the Rose Bowl. Details for the new course will be released in the coming weeks.

How can I transfer my current registration to virtual?

Please email solutions@mccourtfoundation.com with your full registered name and registered email address, letting us know you want to switch from our in-person Rose Bowl 5K to our Virtual Rose Bowl 5K. Deadline to transfer your in-person registration to the virtual registration can be made at any time before April 30, 2021.

I’m already registered, but cannot participate in-person, can I defer my registration?

Registration deferments to 2022 can be made by April 30, 2021. For runners who cannot complete in the in-person event, transfers to the virtual 5K are also available by April 30, 2021.

If I have already deferred to 2022, can I un-defer so that I can run on the new fall date in 2021?

Yes, you can un-defer to the 2021 event. You must un-defer before April 30, 2021 and reserve your start time.

What is the deadline to complete my race virtually?

You will have the option to run your 5K distance any time before July 2, 2021.

How will I receive my packet, if I run virtually?

Packets will be mailed to all virtual participants as soon as you register for the virtual race. Please allow up to a month for your package to arrive.

Rose Bowl Half Marathon FAQs

I’m already registered but cannot participate on the new date. What are my options?

If you are unable to participate on the new date, you can defer your registration to another year (2022, 2023, or 2024) or complete the Rose Bowl Half Marathon virtually.

What do I need to do in order to defer my registration?

To defer your 2021 RBHM registration, you will need to fill out the deferment form sent via email and submit it before the deadline, April 30, 2020 at 11:59pm PST.

What is the deadline to complete my race virtually?

How will I receive my packet, if I run virtually?

Your packet will be mailed to you ahead of the race. Virtual runners will receive an email with mailing dates as they are confirmed.

Where can I find a course map for the Rose Bowl Half Marathon?

The course map for the Rose Bowl Half Marathon will be posted shortly, we will be following the traditional route from previous years.

What do I need to bring to registration check in?

Your QR code (emailed to you on race week from Active.com) and photo ID will be needed to verify your bib pick-up.

How do I complete the Conquer LA Challenge?

To qualify for the 2021 Conquer LA Challenge medal you need to complete the:

• 2020 Santa Monica Classic (Live or Virtual)
• 2021 Rose Bowl Half Marathon
• 2021 Los Angeles Marathon presented by ASICS

If you are already registered for one of the qualifying races, you can register for the remaining races individually using the same email address. When you pick up your bib at the marathon expo, it should have a sticker that says Conquer LA Challenge. If it does not, please visit the Solutions booth at the expo to verify your eligibility. This ensures you will receive the medal at the marathon finish line.

What is included with the registration fee?

Included in the registration fee is your race entry, participant shirt and finisher medal.

When does race registration close?

Race registration is currently open and will be available online until the race reaches capacity.

When and where do I pick up my event race bib?

Packet pick-up and check in details will be finalized shortly based on local health and safety protocols. Please check back for details.

If I plan to bring my children to walk the course, do they also need to register?

Yes, anyone participating in the Rose Bowl Half Marathon or 5K needs to be registered and have a race bib. Strollers are allowed for the 5K ONLY. Children in strollers do not need to register for the event but they will not be able to collect a medal at the Finish Line. The Rose Bowl Half will abide by AWD Rules and can be read here.

Where is the event?

The Rose Bowl Half Marathon will begin at the Rose Bowl. 2021 course map will be available shortly. Please keep checking back for updates.

What is the distance of the course?

The half marathon is 13.1 miles.

Are there awards?

Yes, age group awards will be distributed by mail after the event is over and results are made official.

We will reward the top three men and women for both the 5K and the half marathon in the following age groups:
Under 15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over

Are virtual runners eligible for awards?

Virtual runners are not eligible for awards.

Where do I wear my bib?

Bibs must be fastened to the front of your body on either your shirt or shorts/pants using the provided safety pins.

What do I do if I have an issue with my results?

If you are having trouble finding your results or your results are not posted, please reach out to results@spectrumtiming.com.

Where do I park on race day?

Parking information for the half marathon will be finalized in early 2021. Please check back for updates.

Will the half marathon have pace leaders?

If at the time of the race social distancing regulations allow for Pace Leader involvement, every effort will be made to have them available for runners. Please check back for details.

Will there be food/drinks available on the course? At the finish line?

Details on food and beverage availability at the race will be confirmed in 2021 in line with local health and safety guidelines at the time. Please check back for updates.

Are skates, bikes, or pets allowed on the course?

No skates, bikes or pets are allowed on the course.

What is your refund policy?

If you are unable to participate on the new date, you can defer your registration for the 2022 RBH Marathon, 2023 RBH Marathon, 2024 RBH Marathon. There will be no refunds available.
