When is the 2022 Los Angeles Marathon?

What distances do you have?

We have a marathon, a Charity Challenge 13.1, the LA Big 5K on Saturday, and a Kids Run on Saturday.

Will the Course be the Stadium to the Stars again?

Yes, the plan is for the course to be largely, if not exactly, the same as 2021.

What is the Charity Challenge 13.1?

The Charity Challenge 13.1 is a half marathon within the marathon. It is open only to those who fundraise for Team TMF or other non-profit charity partners.

What is the deadline for corral placement?

Corral placement deadline is January 31, 2022.

When & where is the Health & Fitness Expo?

The Health & Fitness Expo will be March 18 - 19 at Dodger Stadium. Details on time will be announced later.

When do I pick up my bib?

All participants must pick up their own bib at the Health & Fitness Expo on March 18 - 19, 2022. There is no race day bib pick up without purchasing Start Line Hospitality.

When will the registration price increase?

The registration price increases as we get closer to the marathon.

Will you have pacers at the Marathon?

Yes! We will have pace groups from the Los Angeles Road Runners for the following finish times: 3:00; 3:10; 3:20; 3:30; 3:40; 3:50; 4:00; 4:10; 4:20; 4:30; 4:40; 4:50; 5:00; 5:15; 5:30; 5:45; 6:00; 6:15; 6:30

If I sign up and them an unable to participate, can I be refunded or defer my registration?

Per our policy there is no refund, transfer, or deferral policy and we are not able to refund registration fees.

Can I defer my entry?

No. There will be no deferrals for anyone who registers for the 2022 Los Angeles Marathon. The lenient policies and exceptions that were made in 2021 due to the pandemic will not apply for any 2022 registrations.

Can I transfer my registration to a family member/friend?

No. Per our no refund, transfer, or deferral policy, we do not allow the transfer of race registrations from one participant to another.

I signed up for regular but would like to now run for a charity, is it possible to switch my registration?

Yes, but first please reach out to your desired charity from our list of charity partners letting them know you are wanting to change your registration to a charity registration and to see if they still have room available on their team and what their fundraising requirements are.

If I signed up for each event individually, am I still qualified for the bonus medal Challenges like Conquer LA?

Yes! As long as participants use the same email address to register for each event, they will be manually pooled into the Challenges they qualify for.

What safety protools will be taken/implemented?

Health and safety is always our top priority. We will continue to work with the county and proper officials on the health & safety of our participants, volunteers and partners, the applicable health departments and other governmental agencies.

My finishing time/bib number is not posted, how can that be fixed?

Please email results@spectrumtiming.com with your registered name, bib number, and request and our timing company for review.

Virtual Participation FAQ

Will you have a Virtual option at the 2022 Los Angeles Marathon?

Yes, we recently added a virtual option for all distances.

Are you able to complete the event virtually if you choose to?

Yes. Select Virtual when registering.

How do I switch to the virtual run?

You may transfer your registration to virtual through March 6, 2022. You will not receive a refund for the difference in price.

Can I transfer from Virtual to in-person event?

Yes, you may do so by emailing solutions@mccourtfoundation.org with "VIRTUAL TRANSFER" in the subject line. The deadline to do this is January 31, 2022. You will need to pay the difference of the virtual price to the price of the in-person registration when you registered.

If I completed the Marathon virtually, when will I receive my athlete package?

We will start shipping medals and participant t-shirts by April 1, 2022. Please allow up to 4 weeks to receive yours.

Can I transfer my registration to a family member/friend?

No, per our no refund or deferral policy.

Marathon Name T-Shirt FAQ

Who is eligible to receive the Marathon Name T-shirt?

The Name t-shirt is for finishers of the marathon distance at the 2021 Los Angeles Marathon and those who register to participate in the 2022 Los Angeles Marathon. This is open to people who participated in one or both virtually as well. Virtual Participants in 2022 will need to pick up their shirt at the Health & Fitness Expo or pay $15 shipping & handling fee to receive the shirt. The Marathon Name t-shirt if not eligible to participants of the Charity Challenge 13.1 or the LA Big 5K.

Do I have to pay for the Name t-shirt?

No, it is free to those who qualify. However if you participate in the 2022 Marathon virtually you will need to pick up your shirt at the Health & Fitness Expo or pay $15 shipping & handling fee to receive the shirt

What is the deadline to be included?

You must be registered for the 2022 Los Angeles marathon by January 31, 2022 for your name to be printed on the t-shirt.

What if I qualify and cannot pick up my shirt, can you ship it to me?

No, all t-shirts must be picked up at the Health & Fitness Expo.

I didn’t run in 2021 but I want a shirt, can I get one? Buy one?

No, this shirt is only for people who finished the 2021 Marathon and register for the 2022 Marathon.

Will you do this in other years?

We are not sure at this moment.

Can I buy an extra shirt?

Unfortunately not. There is only 1 per person and they are not available to buy at this time.

How do I know if I have qualified?

Please check myevents.active.com and confirm you registered for the 2021 Marathon and 2022 marathon with the same email address. If that is true and you finished the 2021 marathon you will be all set. We will send an email confirming closer to the race.

When do I pick up my shirt?

You will receive more information closer to race week on details of where to pick up your shirt at the Health & Fitness Expo.

I am running 2022 virtual and want to have my shirt mailed, what do I do?

We will send a form and link for you to opt in to receive your shirt and pay for the shipping.

I ran the Charity Challenge 13.1 in 2021 do I get a shirt?

No, this shirt is for marathon finishers only.
